Our
son Joey enjoys dancing but a couple years ago when classes became
more advanced he wasn’t such a happy dancer. Hey this is Debbie
Griffith with Everyday Matters.
Often
frustrated he’d stop to a frozen standstill and then melt to the
floor crying when he lost his way. Off the floor he’d say; “I’m
nervous. I can’t do it.” “Oh Joey,”
I’d respond, “It
doesn’t matter if you know all the moves, just have fun and dance!”
“You
mean I don’t have to be perfect?”
“NO!
I don’t care
about the moves; I care about YOU!” Later,
in the middle of a shoe change, Joey hugged me and whispered, “Thanks
mom for what you said; I’m having fun, now that I don’t have to
be perfect.”
God
doesn’t expect us to be perfect either. He just expects us to do
the best with what He’s given us. So let’s take comfort from
Zephaniah 3:17, “with God’s love, He’ll calm all our fears”
and freedom from fear can bring fun to any situation…everyday.
