Everyday REAL Forgiveness

Bitterness sets root when we begin harboring unforgiveness in our hearts and that, my friend, is extremely dangerous.  Hey this is Debbie Griffith with Everyday Matters.  The Bible tells us very plainly in Mark 11:26 that if we won’t forgive other people then God can’t forgive us.  I thought about this and realized that, it’s our faith that pleases God, not our works, so the deal is; if we don’t forgive others, our faith won’t work. Everything that comes from God comes by faith. If our faith doesn’t work, we can’t receive from God and this means… we’re in serious trouble.  As a people, as a church we lack power because we lack love. Power comes from love, not from bitterness and unforgiveness.

Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44 that we are to forgive those who hurt us, pray for those who spitefully use us and bless those who curse us. That’s hard. But there’s something harder, being full of bitterness and resentment. No matter how great the offense is; God is greater. He promises to do His part in avenging us. Our part is to forgive …everyday.
